SUPA Industrial Studentships
SUPA Industrial PhD studentships are awarded competitively. The studentships cover the cost of all tuition fees, a maintenance grant of £14500 per year for a three-and-a-half-year period, rising by £500 per year, and a generous travel grant.
The SUPA industrial studentships support researchers of any nationality in order to perform postgraduate research in Physics and Life Sciences (PaLS) within industry and academia for a PhD at any of the eight participating SUPA universities.
The SUPA universities are:
- Aberdeen
- Dundee
- Edinburgh
- Glasgow
- Heriot-Watt
- St. Andrews
- Strathclyde
- University of the West of Scotland
An excellent training will be provided by the SUPA Graduate School, giving candidates access to a wide range of courses across Scotland.

midnight UK time (GMT) on 30 April 2010.
Please note that applicants who have submitted an application for the SUPA Prize Studentships this year will also be considered and do not have to make a new application.
Successful applicants will be notified within three months of the closing date. Due to the number of applications received we are unable to notify unsuccessful candidates. If you have not heard from SUPA with three months of the closing date you may assume that your application has been unsuccessful.
