  • SUPA Fellowship in Particle Physics (Glasgow)

    £19,460 - £29,128 or £27,116 - £35,883 per annum REF 11331/DPL/A3 Six Scottish Universities have come together to form a research alliance in Physics, SUPA (Scottish Universities Physics Alliance). The aim is to place Scotland at the forefront of research in Physics through an agreed national strategy, an inter-institutional management structure, and co-ordinated promotion and pursuit of excellence.
  • Lectureship in Nuclear Physics (Edinburgh)

    Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Nuclear Physics. The successful applicant will join the School's group in Nuclear Physics (http://www.ph.ed.ac.uk/nuclear). We are seeking to appoint someone with an outstanding track record in the area of Hadron Physics, and would also consider candidates in the fields of Exotic Nuclei and Nuclear Astrophysics. A commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential, and there will be an opportunity to teach within the new SUPA Graduate School.
  • Lectureship/Readership in Biophotonics (Edinburgh)

    Applications are invited for a Lectureship in biophotonics. The post will be associated with the Collaborative Optical Spectroscopy, Micromanipulation and Imaging Centre (COSMIC) which combines ultrafast laser systems, spectroscopy, imaging and optical micromanipulation for diverse applications in chemistry, physics, biology and biomedical sciences. We seek a scientist with a strong research record in one or more of the following areas: lasers/optics, microscopy, spectroscopy, spectral imaging or laser trapping.
  • Chair/Readership in Astronomy (St Andrews)

This post is part of a key collaborative initiative in astro-biology/exo-planets linking the University of St.Andrews and the University of Edinburgh within the recently formed Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA). You will play a key role in developing this joint venture.

    £23,643 - £35,883 per annum You will teach physics or physics/astrophysics at undergraduate, and to a lesser extent postgraduate, level and carry out academic service and teaching support activities.
