    Based in the Department of Physics (www.phys.strath.ac.uk), you will join the Computational Nonlinear and Quantum Optics Group, led by Prof. Stephen M. Barnett. The CNQO (cnqo.phys.strath.ac.uk) group has an outstanding reputation for theoretical research in this area and also extensive links with the rest of the UK and the wider international community. You will have a strong research record in theoretical quantum information and ideally also similar experience in quantum optics. You will have the ability and initiative to work independently but also be ready to work with our existing team of researchers. Experience in winning research funding and in the supervision and teaching of students are also desirable. With a PhD in quantum information, quantum optics or a related field, you will preferably have post-doctoral experience.
