Academic Fellowship/ Lectureship in Optics (Strathclyde)

Applications are sought for an EPSRC five year Academic Fellowship which is expected to lead to a permanent Lectureship in the Department of Physics (http://phys.strath.ac.uk). The Department seeks to appoint a researcher with an excellent track record in one or more area of experimental or theoretical optics. Departmental research is organized around three divisions - Materials, Optics and Plasmas. The appointee will be expected to align with the Optics Division, and to contribute to the Photonics Theme of the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (http:// www.supa.ac.uk), of which the Department is a founder member. Research record, for example being able to bring or attract to the post significant research funding from another source such as two years of a fellowship, will be a major criterion for appointment. Interest in and aptitude for teaching, student supervision and outreach to schools will also be important. Salary: £22,954 - £34,838 per annum.
