Chair of Physics and Life Sciences, University of Edinburgh
We are looking to appoint a Chair to provide leadership at the interface between Physics and the Life Sciences (PALS), a new SUPA-wide theme established in 2009. The Chair will develop a plan for the development of PaLS within Edinburgh, and work closely with colleagues across the SUPA institutions to develop a robust, internationally recognised pan-Scotland PaLS programme.
You will be based in the Institute for Condensed Matter and Complex Systems and it will be an advantage if you wish to interact with existing group members. Collaboration with other Institutes (Astronomy, Particle and Nuclear) as well as other Schools within the University of Edinburgh (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Medicine) is also welcome.
The opportunity for extensive Knowledge Exchange activities within the PaLS theme has been recognised by the SUPA International Advisory Committee, and the appointee will provide leadership in this area in collaboration with colleagues within Edinburgh and across the SUPA institutions.
