Lectureship in Experimental Particle Physics
As a scientist with a strong research record that matches our current and planned activities, you will join the PPE group (http://www.ph.ed.ac.uk/particle/Exp). Our current programme includes B-Physics at SLAC and LHCb, and Grid computing for Particle Physics. We are interested in developing a new interest in future Linear Collider physics, and in collaborations with a strong local theory group. A commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential, and there will be an opportunity to teach within the new SUPA Graduate School.
The University of Edinburgh is a member of SUPA (http://www.supa.ac.uk), a new trans-institutional alliance that creates a common strategy for physics research across Scotland. A joint theme in Particle Physics is being carried forward with our colleagues in Glasgow.
The position is for a 5 year fixed term in the first instance. Exceptional candidates may be considered for a permanent position. The expected start date will be September 2005.
