Lectureship/Readership in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics (St Andrews)
Our current activities centre on the study of correlated electrons in solids, using a variety of high field / low temperature probes such as transport, magnetisation, nuclear magnetic resonance, electron spin resonance, muon spin rotation and neutron scattering. We seek outstanding candidates who will build an original and independent research profile which will both link with and complement our existing programmes and those of the newly-formed Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA). A second key feature of the position is a commitment to excellence and innovation in physics teaching. The start will be 1 September 2005, or as soon as possible thereafter.
