SUPA IT Officer

The Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA) seeks to appoint a dedicated IT specialist to manage the IT support for the SUPA Graduate School videoconferencing facilities, virtual learning environment, on-line prize studentship competition and general SUPA IT tasks such as the SUPA website.

You will be qualified to graduate level or have equivalent relevant experience and will be competent in developing and maintaining web applications, have excellent technical knowledge and coordinating/influencing skills across a range of user communities and desirably have demonstrable experience of providing network service operations and support across multiple UK academic sites.
Recruitment for this post is being handled on SUPA’s behalf by the University of Strathclyde.  Although the post is advertised as per Strathclyde terms, it should be noted that consideration will be given to the post being placed at any of the SUPA locations.

KT Business Development Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA), an alliance of eight universities aimed at developing Physics in Scotland into a world leading force by pooling of resource and coherent planning of research strategy.  SUPA has a Knowledge Transfer vision to significantly grow its KT activities through increasing contracts and consultancy with industry.

Reporting to their University line manager and working closely with academics and the Knowledge Transfer Officers (KTOs) across SUPA, you will have an outward facing role to deliver significant new collaborative industrial research contracts for SUPA. You should have a qualification in physics or associated subject, significant experience in both industry and research,   have high level national and international commercial and research contacts and must be high profile individuals, recognised within industry and by the academic community. The post is available until 20th December 2011
