Doctoral Training Centres

The Scottish Doctoral Training Centre in Condensed Matter Physics (CM-CDT) is a collaboration between the Universities of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt and St Andrews providing international-level doctoral training in the core discipline of condensed matter physics. Commencing in 2009 and part funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, CM-CDT offers 4-year studentships.

Partnerships

PHYESTA, founded in 2010, combines the Schools of Physics and Astronomy at the Universities of Edinburgh and St Andrews into a single world-class research centre. A common research vision with shared facilities and postgraduate training led to the first UK joint submission in physics to REF2014.
